What a cool surprise. Seb and I showed up at my OB appointment and I was trying to get him out of the car, since we were running a little behind, when I hear some guy repeating everything I'm saying...I was thinking, "Hey buddy, not today, just mind your own business, alright?" So I turn around and my sweet, wonderful, handsome hubby was standing right there smiling at me! It was such a surprise. He hadn't mentioned anything about meeting us at the appointment, he just showed up...Boy do I LOVE this man!
Other things that make me happy today? Well, it's not about dilation, that's for sure. Although I'm feeling a little pressure down there, I'm only dilated 3-4, bummer, eh? He's growing so well though and is going to be pretty big evidentally, but I haven't gained any weight, I've actually lost a pound! I couldn't believe my ears when she said that! How is that possible? I swear, I ate probably 4 pieces of cake in the last week and a half! Either way, I'm happy that he's doing good and my weight isn't bad.
We're planning a walk for this afternoon, so maybe that will help things out...Don't worry, the doctor says it's fine to start working on getting my labor going naturally since he's getting pretty big in there and is a healthy little MOOSE. So if you know any, share with me. haha My regular doctor has recommended "stripping my membranes" next week...Isn't that the grossest phrase you've ever heard? It's right up there with "Harvesting" organs, I mean, sure you can have them, but let's call it something else...Yuck! Anyway, I declined to do that, it just sounds uncomfortable and icky and I'll just hope this baby works things out on his own. Don't be shy about any home remidies though, I'm always looking for advice.

The best one I have ever heard of is the thing that got you into this mess in the first place!
Well you know my opinion! Getting your membranes stripped sounds terrible but well you know I say I'd go with that! It hurt a lot more with Zach than it did with Taylor but compared to labor pains the pain wasn't too terrible!
And yay for not gaining any weight! Seems like franay was right last week and it must have just been water weight!
Okay, I don't know if I wrote it write or not, but the weight gain isn't a loss of one pound, but that I gained two pounds last week and one just fell off somewhere, I guess. Sorry, my brain isn't functioning very well today.
Yah know one thing to consider is that stripping the membranes is really something that has become popular only in the last ten years or so. For centuries people have been doing this whole baby thing without having all this "help" in getting things moving. I agree that at long as there are not health concerns for you or baby..just let it happen when it is supposed to.
I agree with Life is Good, sex is a good way to help things along. I opted against the "stripping" (a word rarely associated with good things) with Corb and would happily decline again. Walking is good, reportedly nipple stimulation is good (again not my thing), anything that involves bouncing or athletics. Do you have an excercise ball? Now would be a good time to start using it. Bounce and watch your favorite movie!
