Pre-wedding Fun

For those of you who know I renewed my wedding vows to my husband this Sunday. So Saturday we each had our own little parties, mine was a "bridal shower" with the girls and Jason's was a day at the lake with the boys. It was Jason, his best friend Brandon, my dad, and cousin Jeff. They brought back 14 catfish, my dad caught the first fish of the day and Jeff caught the biggest. All together they weighed in at 8.8 lbs.

My get-together was lots of fun! We had fun little appetizers, the kids watched movies and played, and we enjoyed a nice visit before breaking into games. We started out with the "Memory Lane Mystery" game where everyone had to write down a favorite memory of me, or Jason, or both of us and toward the end of the party my bestie Ellie read them to me and I had to guess who wrote them. I guessed them all right! But the memories from my sister, Wendy, were the sweetest of all. They were about a time I was playing my keyboard and she felt her twins move. What a precious moment to share together! It was fun, made me cry, and was neat to share them with Jason when he got home too. Then we played "What's she wearing" where they had to remember everything I had on after spending the first 20 minutes of the party visiting with me (my sister Sal won that one easily, she had nine things written down including my tattoos. haha). Our last game was the "toilet paper bride" game. We had two teams, with adorable 10 year old "consultants" and a bride for each team. They had 15 minutes to dress their bride in a paper dress and then we compared them side by side. I have to say they were very impressive! Unfortunately, one of the dresses fell apart "on the runway" so the other team won but both designs were awesome.

We finished the day with a rehearsal, setting up for the wedding, and enjoying a delicious rehearsal dinner. What a fun day with a bunch of our friends and family. It was amazing to have so many people there to celebrate the rehearsal with us and it just moved me that everyone would come so far to celebrate the weekend with us. The wedding was fantastic. I have tons to write about it but I'll save that for my next post and when I have our photos to add to the post as well. All I can say right now is that the day couldn't have been much more perfect. I feel so blessed to have had an amazing weekend!
