Wow, Well it felt like it just came and went like Christmas! It was craziness, and sometimes stressful, starting off incredibly slow and then turning into a mad rush to get everything ordered and done on time. And then with the snap of a finger it was over and everyone was gone. It was a little depressing Monday when everyone went home but while they were here it was probably the best weekend of my life! We had wonderful family & friends here and they were doing everything to help us make the day perfect, and it was! My parents were running around the entire time getting things done and cooking and making everything perfect, Ellie was helping me make sure all the music was ready and Wen & I were picking up vests & ties and helping with all the little details before the big day.
It was such a beautiful day! Meg was my flower girl, Seb was her escort, Shan & Lucas were Tutu's ushers, and Cade was Wen's usher. The pastor, Jason, and his best guys walked down to the Brad Paisley song "Camoflauge", which was definitely Jason's style. And we had my beautiful sunflowers everywhere! Wen and Ellie put all the bouquets & daisy mum boutonnieres together and they were absolutely perfect!
I never understood how special it would be until my dad walked me down the isle. Only part way down the isle I was doing everything I could to hold back the tears, which wasn't a huge success, but hey, I'm a girl after all. I think I was just so moved that some of our oldest & dearest friends & family were there to celebrate it with us...It meant so much!
The entire weekend was like a party. From our fish fry Friday night to our rehearsal dinner Saturday, and then starting Sunday morning with chocolate and beer and and ending with some vows, dancing, and a great visit! Ellie did my hair for the rehearsal & the wedding and it looked beautiful! And my friend A'Leah made the most beautiful fabric flowers with little pearls in the middle to go with my veil. Sal did a ton of decorating to our table and our arbor and Cyndy had the most beautiful flowers everywhere!
Getting ready was giving me butterflies and felt like it was taking forever. I loved all the photos, everyone in there with me. Even the boys came in to see me and they looked so handsome! Having my Ellie & Heather there made it something really special but the picture of me, Wen, & Sal was so sweet and sharing the day with all my sisters was something I'll remember forever.
Ellie & Brandon tagged our car before they had to head home. They got it right though...Ten years, two dogs, and three little boys later "I still do".
The reception was nothing but photos, food, & fun. The kids spent most of the reception drinking soda, running across the hay bales, and catching water skippers while all the adults sat around talking and laughing for hours.
After pictures were done Callie & Triniti asked me to come dance with them so we ran over and danced to "Walking on Sunshine", which I think all of us girls were dancing to before the end of it. Two things I missed out on when we eloped was Jason & my first dance and a dance with my dad. I danced with Jason to "A Woman Like You" and with my dad to "Angel Standing By" which has always been one of our favorites. Sebby & I also got a little dancing in, just the two of us. He's my little sweetheart, never too cool to dance with me.
The bouquet toss & garter toss were pretty fun too. I did a fake out first to make sure all the girls were ready but then I tossed the bouquet and Meg & Callie caught it at the same time so we had Sal split it for them. Of the guys to catch the garter Seb surprised us all and snatched it before anyone else could! Our cakes were pretty simple. We did a chocolate sheet cake with butter cream filling, white icing, and sunflower yellow dots on top. And then for our little cake for Jason, me & our bridal party we did a small two layer vanilla cake with butter cream filling, white icing, and little white interlocking hearts around the side. Our little cake toppers were made by our friend Randall and the girls fashioned a couple little daisy mums to go with them on the top of the cake.
I feel so blessed when I look at these pictures. I didn't have to wait long for God to bring the perfect man into my life. And I am blessed to have three adorable & amazing little boys. And we finally had our perfect wedding day, with the help of so many people and it was wonderful! I couldn't have asked for a more better weekend! The only regret we had was not getting a honeymoon, not ten years ago or now, but someday we're going to go somewhere really special and having it be our very first vacation anywhere together and I can't wait for that!
Oh, and I have family photos to post too but I'm waiting for the edited version. I just wanted to get these out and share the story of our big day.
