Well, it certainly isn't one of my strong points, but I'm still hanging in there...Or, well, Shan's still hanging in there. I'm becoming quite the little joke in the nurses station, with a lot of "why are you still pregnant?" talk. (I love them though, they're so much fun!) I had my latest OB appointment today and not too much has changed. I'm now at a "good 5 cm" and 100% effaced but Shan's head is still at zero station. My doctor said that he'd just keep me there if I was at 6 cm, but of course, Shan's gotta be stubborn about things (or maybe he's just procrastinating).
So, now the plan is more walking, and if nothing happens over the weekend I'll call my doctor Monday morning and set up an appointment to go in Tuesday and see little Shan on ultrasound and check his heartbeat and the amniotic fluid and whatnot...Then we'll schedule a time to come into the hospital on Wednesday (my doctor will be on-call then) and I'll be induced.
Sooooo...Now we have a deadline, anyway, right? Wednesday at the latest! Unfortunately this means I can't go see Amy next weekend (I'm very depressed about that) but at least I'll be a mother of two by Mother's Day!! Yay! That's definitely something to cheer about.

Seriously, Raegan was almost named Patience. Fir this very reason, although I wasn't late, just TIRED. You are doing SO well! If you're up to induction, you should go ahead and get your membranes stripped... that would really move things along and if you can get things started without any drugs that is best! Pitocin is the WORST (aka, Raegans birth) as far as I'm concerned! Are you planning on using any pain medications?
I admire your patience and positive attitude!
You will be in my prayers and when the time is right...by his choice (shans) or yours (induction by whatever method)we will get to meet the new little man and see if he is blond and looks like Seb and Daddy or if he will favor you! I am excited to see!
Blessings and prayers for the weekend!
There would be no better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo that birthin this baby -seein's how you can't have a margarita...have an epidural instead!
Thanks for the encouragement, it's much needed at times! I'm planning to have an epidural (did with Seb) and actually they used Pitocin on me with Seb and it wasn't a bad experience at all...The term "stripping the membranes" just creeps me out, but at this point, we could consider it. I think things will happen fast once my water breaks though. Either way, I'm very excited that he could be here anyday, and at the latest, right after my Pappy's birthday! Luckily, my family will be coming over next weekend too so he'll be pretty new when they get here! Thanks for the prayers!
I bow down to you! I can't imagine being over my due date and still no baby espically already being half way dilated and all ready to go! Can't wait to see him soon! Must be nice to have a deadline now though!
