1 Week Old

Yesterday marked a whole week since little Shanon came into the world...It's been interesting adjusting to having two kids but nothing we can't handle, yet. Our routine right now pretty much consists of feeding Shanon, changing Shanon, and rocking Shanon, while sneaking in a softball game here and there to watch Jason play. Unfortunately, the laundry fairy passed right by my house so I've been playing catch-up with that and trying to clean up the house while Shan's napping and Seb is occupied.

The first four days were a bit tiresome...I think I only managed to get about 7 hours of sleep total, but now we're averaging about four hours of sleep at a time and I'm no where near becoming delirious, so I think we're doing pretty well. He certainly isn't a fan of the car seat yet (I practically have to sedate him) but as soon as the car starts up he's just fine, thank goodness.

Seb is learning to relax a little and that it's okay if the baby cries a little. He loves to give Shan kisses and hold him and help feed him. And he also loves telling everyone that Shanon is ours...There may be a bit of jealousy, but I haven't seen anything yet.

It's funny, now we have two kids in the house but with Jason gone all day I'm actually feeling a little alone. I'm not feeling depressed or anything, but I wish Jason could have had more time off with us at home instead of just an afternoon. My dad was able to come over this last weekend and see the boys though, and so were two of my aunties.

My sister & the twins are coming over with my dad this coming weekend for the races and to meet the baby, so that'll be nice. And my mom should be back in a couple weeks, we can't wait to see her. Maybe Shanon will even be awake more for her.
