Pumpkin Palooza!

Today we went to the first ever Pumpkin Palooza at Andrews Seed Co. in Ontario. It was a fundraiser for the Oregon Food Bank and an awesome way to spend the day with all my men. I love Halloween. It's one of my absolute favorite holidays. It's always been a fun one, but having kids really makes Halloween, and Christmas for sure, so much more exciting than I ever thought they were when I was a kid. I love everything about Halloween. The kids dressed up in their costumes, the trick-or-treaters, the candy. Maybe it's because you can get so creative or maybe it's just because autumn is my favorite of all the seasons. Who knows? Every year we take our boys to the pumpkin patch. Or, at least that's what we did when we lived in Bend. But now that we're in a smaller community things are different. They're not so big. They're more down home sweet & friendly. So this year we thought we'd switch things up with the Pumpkin Palooza.

They had an antique tractor show. Lucas could barely stand it...He wanted to sit on every one of them, but unfortunately that wasn't allowed. It broke his little heart.

We watched a man make fun little whips out of bailing twine...Of course, the boys all wanted their own. What's the fun of having brothers if you can't torment each other by hitting each other with stuff, right? So they picked their color and got to make one each.

And the day is never complete if you don't pose for something. Seb was the only one brave enough to pose in the bikini...You've just gotta love his sense of humor. He sure makes life fun!

I think we spent most of our time there in the line to get their faces painted. I think it was worth it though. They were so excited. And patient. I was surprised how well they did considering we stood in line for over an hour! The paint only lasted for two errands and by the time we got home they were all ready to wash their faces but they sure looked cool until then.

We also got to listen to some great live music, enjoy some fresh kettle corn, visit the petting zoo which had a sheep, a pig, two goats, a Shetland pony, and the cutest little miniature donkey who walked right over to me so I could pet his little face. He stole my heart and I told Jason I have to have one of my own. haha And since it was held in the nursery Jason got a chance to check out some great little trees he wants to plan when we get some property of our own. I think we found our new favorite little gardening place. I can't wait to go again next year. Hopefully we'll be a little more prepared and the boys can enter the pumpkin carving contest. I think we could have gotten lost in that place all day.
