As some of you might already know, this was Seb's first year in pre-4H. We didn't really know what to expect for anything really so we had a lot of questions and, thankfully, got a lot of advice and help from all the awesome kids in the barn--Most of them close to half my age...Ugh!
We took Puppet up on Tuesday and got him all settled in. Then we headed back up Wednesday morning for Seb's Showmanship. Unfortunately, Tutu had to work and couldn't be there for either day but Papa & Kathy, Nana, Auntie & UB & the kiddies were there. Jason had to work but made it Thursday.
I thought Seb would be too nervous to go up there and answer questions and be in the front of the room but he wasn't, he did awesome! I'm so proud of him! I mean, he was up in front of a room full of strangers, answering all the questions, keeping his bunny on the table, and he was so awesome!
Oh, and guess what...He took first! We were so excited! Granted, he was the only kid with a Netherland Dwarf but it was still awesome to see him get a ribbon...A blue ribbon, at that! So he now has two ribbons-Open Class Showmanship & First Place-along with a big ol' smile and a new friend named Robert.
Seb & his pre-4H friends...
Big smile with his Showmanship ribbon.
Here he is in front of his hutch with both ribbons on the second day.
Puppet (behind the sign) relaxing in his little hutch after day two.
Seb on Barn duty! Thankfully he only had 1 hour since he's so young (having Shan in the barn for 4 hours might have been a bit much)!
We had a little celebration dinner with pasta and a cake.
