New Year's Eve was just another day for us, only we were totally laid back and didn't go anywhere. Jason worked until the afternoon and then we cleaned up and headed to my sister's house for our traditional Crab Cioppino...We ate, drank, listened to Frank Sinatra and, although we didn't talk about him, I know we were all thinking about my Pappy. And when his song "I Did It My Way" came on we all smiled. It was messy, delicious, and a nice treat.
After dinner the kids watched a movie and we played poker...My brother-in-law, who was pretty toasted by the end of the night, won everybody's chips. My dad and Nana didn't stay past 9:00 but the kids were having fun and we were pretty involved in the game. I managed to come up with four-of-a-kind and blew Jason's doors off!
Then we came home, put the boys to bed, watched the New Year's Eve Party and the ball drop. Some people a few streets over decided to ring in the New Year with fireworks, so we watched those for a while and then we decided to turn in for the night. I know, we're such an exciting bunch!
