Festivals & Fireworks!

This last weekend was nothing short of exciting! We started our weekend Friday night by making dinner for Jason's entire family. Then we got up early Saturday morning to bake a cake and head off to Drake Park for the 4th of July festival. By the time we got there Grandma & Grandpa had already been to the snow cone stand and were waiting for the boys with two watermelon snow cone dishes for the boys.

After taking a tour of all the different booths and grabbing a fresh lemonade and some pizza, we went to get Seb's face painted. It only took a couple minutes and the lady was very nice. He spent the remainder of the walk through the park growling at people, who either growled back or giggled...Some of the adults even growled at him first!

Oh, and no festival is complete without cotton candy, which Shan insisted Seb try first. I was surprised that Shan didn't really like it very much, but Seb of course, loved it and ate his fare share.

After we spent most of the day at the festival we headed over to the Old Mill for the "Vets in 'Vettes" parade...Jason's parents were driving their yellow corvette so we stood at the fence and waved our flags. Luckily, the boys only had a little sword fight and I wore Shan's patriotic glasses while we listened to music and played with pin wheels.

We finished the weekend with an Elks game, watching the fireworks, and going to the lake on Sunday, where I actually got stung by a catfish...My first ever. After that I decided not to swim in the water anymore...haha.
