What a weekend!

Jason thought it would be fun to turn his hunting weekend into a little family vacation so we all packed up and took off for the mountains at about 4 a.m. Saturday. We made it up there around 6 a.m. and were looking for the rest of our group when Seb saw a "dark deer", it turned out to be an elk (unfortunately, we didn't realize what he was talking about until it was already gone). Then we spotted several deer in this area near the road, so Jason hopped out to see what it was and I moved the rig up a little to get off the road. While I kinda distracted them Jason was able to get close enough to get a shot at a fork, which we later named "Willy". After a bit he tracked him and we found him, gutted him, and hauled him back to camp. We decided to take him back to town and not risk him spoiling, so we dropped Shanon off with my mom and headed back up to camp.

Seb had a hard time being away from his baby brother, but my parents did pretty good watching him and after I got over my separation anxiety it turned out to be a really fun weekend! We heard and saw some elk but never got a chance to really track them.

Next year will be a lot of fun because Jason wants us all to go up. So we're planning on taking Shan's little quad and buying Seb a nice little 4-wheeler and all go camping and hunting together.

Anyway, although we don't have any pics of his deer, (a small spike, but pretty meaty), we did take some pretty good shots of everything else...

Seb all crashed out on our way up!

When camping, you're gonna need a S'MORE!

All worn out from a long day of hunting!

We were playing while Daddy was hunting!

My lil' lookout!

He's so cute in his camo!

Playing at the campground...

He really got into the whole hunting thing, it was cool!

Getting ready for bed, the last night. How cute is he?!

Shan was pretty excited to see us!
